The Health Careers Adventure Camp offers participants entering the 7th and 8th grades the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges, opportunities and rewards of health professions through hands-on learning sessions provided by faculty and practicing clinicians.  
Campers will be supervised by faculty and students currently enrolled in the health sciences educational programs and will have the opportunity to explore potential healthcare related skill sets through thought provoking interdisciplinary activities. 

Students will gain exposure to a variety of professions including biology, dental hygienist, exercise science, athletic training, medical assistant, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, psychology, social work, speech-language pathology, and surgical tech. 

In addition to partnerships in the Quad Cities, students will travel to the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy for learning experiences on Tuesday, July 14th in the afternoon.   On-site supervision, t-shirt, team bag, daily snacks and lunch, and transportation to and from learning experiences are all included in the program fee. 

Campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30am and picked up as late as 5:00pm. 

Regular Registration Rate: $250
SAU Faculty/Staff Rate: $150
*Scholarship Rate for students who qualified for Free/Reduced lunch in the 2025/2026 academic year  $35    

*Students will be verified with school districts. A limited number of scholarships are available. 

Refund Policy: Program fees are refundable, minus a $25 processing fee, up to 5:00pm, July 3, 2026.
