Health Careers Adventure Camp 2025-Scholarship: for students who qualify for free or reduced school lunches
The Health Careers Adventure Camp offers participants entering the 7th and 8th grades the opportunity to experience firsthand the challenges, opportunities and rewards of health professions through hands-on learning sessions provided by faculty and practicing clinicians. Campers will be supervised by faculty and students currently enrolled in the health sciences educational programs and will have the opportunity to explore potential healthcare related skill sets through thought provoking interdisciplinary activities.
Students will gain exposure to a variety of professions including, but not limited to exercise science, athletic training, dental hygiene/dentistry, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant, public health, social work, speech-language pathology, biology and surgical tech.
In addition to partnerships in the Quad-Cities, students will travel to the University of Iowa Colleges of Dentistry and Pharmacy for learning experiences on Tuesday, July 15th. On-site supervision, t-shirt, team bag, daily snacks and lunch, and transportation to and from learning experiences are all included in the program fee.
Students who participate in the free or reduced school lunch program are eligible to attend camp with the assistance of a scholarship. A limited number of scholarships are available, so apply soon! Eligibility will be verified through the school the participant attends/attended for free/reduced school lunch.
Campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30 am and picked up as late as 5:00 pm.
Refunds are available through 5:00pm, Monday, July 7th, 2025.
